This course is designed for college-bound seniors who want to develop strong academic writing skills. Students will learn how to write research papers using both APA and MLA formatting, build college-level vocabulary (with support from Oxford University materials), and craft compelling college entrance essays.
The course includes guided instruction in:
- Academic research and structure
- Proper citation styles (APA & MLA)
- Editing and refining written work
- College admissions essay development
Instructor: John Elliott, M.Ed., a certified Washington State teacher and Concordia University graduate with multiple published academic papers. He also holds additional credentials in business, project management, technology, and biblical literacy.
By completing this course, students will earn 1.0 high school English credit and gain writing confidence for the academic rigors of college.
